Community Guidelines
Avahit is a shopping feed. Everything on it is a product someone chose to recommend, usually with an affiliate link attached. These rules exist so a shopper can trust what they see and a creator knows where the line is. They apply to posts, photos, videos, titles, descriptions, tags, comments, reviews, board names, profile text and links.
Breaking them costs you the post, and repeatedly breaking them costs you the account. We would rather tell you the rules than surprise you with a ban.
Post real products you can stand behind
- The link must go to the product you are showing, on a store that actually sells it. Not a homepage, not a category page, not a different colourway hoping nobody notices.
- The price and availability you enter must match the store at the moment you post. We re-check prices ourselves and show the date of the last check on every product page.
- If you have never handled the product, do not write as though you have. Say what you know: that it caught your eye, that the reviews are good, that you own the older model.
Say when a link pays you
US law treats an affiliate link as a material connection that must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and it is our obligation as much as yours. Avahit labels affiliate links automatically — an ad marker on the card, the destination domain in the open, and rel="sponsored nofollow" on the link itself.
What we need from you on top of that:
- Do not remove, hide or contradict the label. Writing “not sponsored” over an affiliate link is a straight violation.
- If a brand paid you, gifted you the item, or gave you a free trial, say so in the post text. Our automatic label only covers commission, not gifts and not sponsorships.
- Disclose in the post itself, not only in your bio or a linked page. A shopper who sees the product must see the disclosure at the same time.
More detail on how commission works: Affiliate disclosure.
Products we do not allow
Some categories are out regardless of who sells them or how legal they are where you live. Posting them gets the post removed without warning:
- Counterfeits, replicas, and “dupes” sold as the real brand.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and their parts; knives sold as weapons rather than tools.
- Drugs and drug paraphernalia, including unapproved nootropics and anything marketed as a legal high. Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and nicotine pouches.
- Prescription medicines, prescription contact lenses, and any product sold with a claim to treat, cure or prevent a disease.
- Supplements and cosmetics that promise medical outcomes — weight loss figures, cures, hormone claims.
- Gambling, betting, lotteries, loot boxes and crypto trading schemes.
- Adult products and sexual content. Avahit is not an adult platform and our merchant partners forbid it.
- Live animals, endangered species products, human remains, and anything from protected wildlife.
- Recalled products, stolen goods, and items whose sale is restricted where the store ships.
- Surveillance and hacking tools, fake documents, credentials, and account access.
Link tactics that get you banned
These are not style preferences. Each one breaks the rules of the affiliate networks we and our creators depend on, and a single case can cost the whole platform its programme:
- Cookie stuffing — firing affiliate links without a deliberate click, through iframes, pixels, redirects or autoplay.
- Link cloaking that hides the merchant. Our
/go/redirect shows the destination domain before the tap; layering shorteners on top to obscure it is not allowed. - Swapping someone else’s link for yours on a post you did not create, or editing an old post purely to hijack its traffic. See our no-hijacking policy.
- Self-clicking and asking others to click to inflate numbers, or buying through your own links where the merchant forbids it.
- Coupon and promo-code claims you cannot back up.No invented codes, no “exclusive discount” that is the public price, no unauthorised use of a merchant’s brand in a way that suggests partnership.
- Fake urgency. Countdown claims, invented stock levels, or a strike-through price the store never charged.
Content that is not yours
- Post photos and video you made, or that the merchant published for promotion and permits partners to use. Lifting another creator’s photo is a copyright matter, and we act on notices: Copyright & DMCA.
- Do not re-upload someone else’s Avahit post as your own with a different link.
- Do not impersonate a person or a brand, including in usernames, display names and profile photos. Fan accounts must be obviously fan accounts.
How you treat other people
- No harassment, threats, or targeted pile-ons. No slurs or dehumanising content about anyone based on who they are.
- No doxxing: home addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, documents, private messages.
- No sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever. We report it and preserve evidence.
- No content that glorifies self-harm, eating disorders, or violence.
- No spam: bulk near-identical posts, comment floods, follow-unfollow cycling, engagement pods, purchased followers.
Age
You must be at least 16 to have an account. Accounts we believe belong to someone younger are removed, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Do not post content that targets children.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews on Avahit come from account holders and are shown as written. Do not post a review of a product you have not used, do not review your own listing with a second account, and do not offer anything in exchange for a positive review. We do not delete reviews for being negative, and we do not let anyone pay to have one removed.
What happens when a rule is broken
- Removal. The post stops being visible, and its URL returns a not-found response. You are told which rule it hit.
- Limits. Repeated problems can mean losing the ability to post, comment or use links while we look into it.
- Termination. Serious cases — counterfeits, cookie stuffing, sexual content involving minors, repeated copyright infringement — end the account immediately and permanently.
Decisions are not final by default. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we sent or write to [email protected] and a person will look again. How that works, and what we tell you at each step, is set out in our content moderation policy.
Reporting something
Every post has a Report control, and copyright owners have a dedicated channel at /dmca that does not require an account. Anything else — illegal content, scams, a store selling something it should not — goes to [email protected]. Tell us the exact address of the post and what is wrong with it; that alone is usually enough for us to act the same day.
