We don’t hijack anyone’s commission
In January 2026 Honey was removed from Rakuten Advertising’s affiliate network and lost roughly 8 million Chrome users. The accusation against that whole category of extension was the same: it replaced someone else’s affiliate tag at the last click and took the commission from whoever actually sent the shopper. Here is what we do instead — and how to check it.
What we do not do
- We never overwrite an affiliate tag.If you arrive at a store from someone else’s link, that link keeps its attribution. We have no code that touches a page we didn’t send you to.
- We run no coupon pop-up.Nothing appears at checkout offering to “find you a code” — which is the moment those extensions used to re-tag the sale.
- Our browser extension injects nothing into other sites. It has no content script and no permission to run on any store page. It reads the address of the tab you have open, only while its popup is open, and asks our own API what we know about that product.
- We take no cut from creators.A creator’s commission is between them and the network.
How you can verify it
- The extension’s permissions are listed in the Chrome Web Store before you install:
activeTab,storage, and access toavahit.comonly. An extension that re-tags sales needs permission to run on every store — ours does not have it and could not do it. - Every outbound link on this site says whether it is an affiliate link, and today most of them are not. Open any product page: it states plainly when we earn nothing from that link. Full disclosure.
- Nothing in our ranking looks at commission. The ranking rules are published and computed from observable facts.
What we earn, honestly
When a store link is an affiliate link, the store may pay us a commission out of its own margin. That never adds anything to your price and never moves a product up a list. At the time of writing most store links here earn us nothing at all, because we have not joined those programmes yet — and the site says so on the page rather than implying otherwise.
