Trademark & brand use
Avahit is full of other companies’ brand names, because that is what a shopping feed is. This page explains the basis on which they appear, what we forbid, and how a rights holder objects if we have got it wrong.
Why brand names appear here
Product posts name the brand and the store so that a shopper knows what they are looking at and where it comes from. That is nominative use: referring to a product by its actual name. It does not imply that the brand endorses Avahit, the creator, or the post.
Product images come from the merchant’s own listing, where the merchant publishes them for promotion, or from the creator’s own photography.
What creators must not do
- Use a brand’s name, logo or trade dress in a way that suggests partnership, sponsorship or official status when none exists.
- Register a username, display name or board name that impersonates a brand, or that a reasonable person would read as the brand’s own account.
- Bid on a merchant’s brand terms in paid search to send traffic to Avahit. Nearly every affiliate programme forbids this outright, and it is the fastest way to lose an account.
- Alter a brand’s logo, or place it on a background that implies a relationship.
- Sell or promote counterfeits and replicas, including “inspired by” items sold under the original brand’s name. See the Community Guidelines.
Amazon and other programmes with their own rules
Some programmes impose specific trademark conditions on participants: how their name may be written, that logos may not be modified, that certain marks may not appear in domain names, social handles or app names. Creators participating in such programmes are bound by those rules here as anywhere else, and we follow them at the platform level too — which is why, for example, we do not brand any part of Avahit with a merchant’s mark.
If you are a rights holder
Write to [email protected] with the mark, its registration number and territory, the exact URLs you object to, and what specifically is wrong: impersonation, counterfeit goods, misuse of a logo, or a claim of partnership. We do not require a court order to act on a clear case.
Trademark complaints are separate from copyright. If your issue is a photograph or a video used without permission, that goes through the copyright process, which has its own statutory form and counter-notice route.
What we do with a complaint, what we tell the creator, and how they appeal is described in content moderation & appeals. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.
Our own name
“Avahit”, the logo and the visual identity belong to MonacoWebPix. You may use the name in plain text to refer to the service, link to it, and say that you post here. Do not use our logo as your own avatar, do not put “Avahit” in your product names or domains, and do not imply that we endorse or verify your products. Press and partners who need assets should write to [email protected].
