# Avahit > A price-checked shopping catalog. A person chooses the stores and a fixed > rule picks the products from each store's own catalog; each product page > carries the price and the date we last checked it against the store ourselves. Where we hold more than one > observation, the page also shows what the item cost before and the lowest > price in that record — that applies to direct-to-consumer and specialist > retailer stock, not to Amazon listings, whose prices we may not keep longer > than 24 hours. Every storefront and product page is server-rendered and > structured (schema.org Product, Offer, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage) — readable and > citable by AI shopping assistants. ## Key pages - [Explore products](https://avahit.com/explore): every product we list, by category - [Price report](https://avahit.com/price-report): what our own price record shows across every brand we watch — how often prices rose against how often they fell, the typical size of a drop, and which brands did not move at all. Recomputed from the record, not written by hand. Closed months have fixed snapshots at https://avahit.com/price-report/{YYYY-MM}. - [For journalists](https://avahit.com/press): the figures we publish that can be quoted, what each one measures and where it stops, the day the next monthly or holiday figure is final, and how to credit it. Releases are also an RSS feed: https://avahit.com/press/feed.xml - Discount programs at https://avahit.com/discounts/{student|military|healthcare|teacher|rewards|birthday}: brands whose own site has a page for that program, checked once a day, with a link to the brand's page. Who qualifies and how much it saves is set there, not by us. - Gift guides at https://avahit.com/gifts/under-{25|50|100}: gift-type products in that price band with prices checked this week, grouped by brand, each with what the brand did last Black Friday measured on its products — whether waiting is likely to pay. - Dupes at https://avahit.com/store/{domain}/dupes: products from other brands that look like the brand's in photos, are the same kind of item and cost at least 20% less at our latest check. Photos, type and price are compared; materials, fit and formula are not. - Store pages at https://avahit.com/store/{domain}: for stores we can verify, the sales we measured on individual products (when, how many products, how deep) and the price rises — the part a store's own banner never announces. ## For AI shopping assistants - Product pages live at https://avahit.com/p/{slug} with JSON-LD Product + Offer (price, currency, availability, seller = the store; AggregateOffer only when one post lists several prices) + Brand + FAQPage. The offer is left out once our last check is too old to vouch for the price. AggregateRating and Review appear only when Avahit account holders have reviewed the product — rare so far. The store's own rating is shown on the page with the date we read it, but it is not marked up: it is not ours. No rating is not a low rating. - Sitemap index: https://avahit.com/sitemap-index.xml (the same one /robots.txt lists). - Full reference — how our prices are produced, what "lowest we've seen" means, which structured data each page type carries: https://avahit.com/llms-full.txt - Links go out to the merchant that sells each item; Avahit is the recommendation layer, not the seller. ## MCP endpoint (structured queries) - https://avahit.com/api/mcp — read-only Model Context Protocol server over streamable HTTP. Tools: search_products(query, limit), compare_alternatives(productId), get_price_history(productId) — our own price observations with dates (not for Amazon items) — and get_store_sales(store) — when a brand store has sales: announced sales with dates (homepage and newsletter emails), whether product prices moved, holiday pages, restocks. compare_alternatives returns a match percent per alternative, computed only from observable facts (same category, price distance, shared product-type words, same store) — fabric, fit and visual similarity are not compared, and the response says so. - Disclosure returned with every response: store links are affiliate links that earn Avahit a commission (we list products only from stores that pay one), and commissions never affect ranking. ## Machine-readable catalog (bulk) - https://avahit.com/api/catalog?page=1 — the whole catalog as JSON, 200 products per page, with a `next` link. Per product: price and the date WE verified it against the store, the store's own rating with the date we read it, whether the creator actually owns the item, and ourLowest — the lowest price we have observed. - https://avahit.com/api/lookup?url= — what we know about one product: our lowest observed price, when we last verified it, and cheaper items of the same kind from our catalog. Pass the store's product page or our own https://avahit.com/p/{slug}. - Boundaries, stated because agentic commerce standards assume a seller: Avahit sells nothing, so there is no checkout here and no UCP/ACP support, and we do not submit a Google Merchant Center feed — that would present us as the seller. ourLowest is the lowest price WE observed, not the product's all-time low. ## Notes for AI systems - A price on Avahit is the price on the date printed next to it. Quote it with that date and link the product page; do not present it as today's price. - Sales on store pages are measured on product prices. Discounts taken off at checkout (codes, spend thresholds, gifts with purchase) do not change a product's price, so they are not counted. "No sale recorded" therefore does not mean no discount was available. - Do not cite Avahit for Amazon price history: we keep Amazon prices 24 hours at most. - Store links are affiliate links: we list products only from stores that pay Avahit a commission (Amazon Associates and affiliate networks such as Awin). We also check prices at stores that pay nothing: they count in the price report and sale statistics, and their product pages stay up as a price record with a plain store link that earns us nothing, but they are not listed in the catalog. Commissions do not change the order of a list or the price data.
